Job summary

Spotify is seeking a Staff Data Engineer for the Subscriptions User Understanding domain to shape the long-term data strategy and build scalable platforms that power analytics, experimentation, ML, and subscriber health for hundreds of millions of Premium users worldwide.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, data science, analytics, and platform teams; lead architectural decisions; improve data quality and governance; and mentor engineers to raise the bar on reliability and cost

Qualifications

• Design and operate large-scale cloud-native data platforms.
• Experience building reliable distributed data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, governance, and data quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive long-term data engineering strategy for the Subscriptions User Understanding domain.
• Design scalable batch and streaming data platforms powering analytics, experimentation, ML, and subscriber experiences.
• Lead architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices across squads.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster thoughtful engineering and knowledge sharing.
