Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer to lead the vulnerability management program across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems. You will set the technical direction, drive remediation, and build scalable automation while working in a remote role for UK-based candidates.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with engineering leadership, and participate in incident investigations, with a focus on reducing MTTR and strengthening security across a multi-product environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of cloud/security engineering experience with vulnerability management across multi-product environments
• Proficiency in Go, Python, and JavaScript
• Ability to independently set technical and architectural direction for a security program
• Experience with modern vulnerability management tooling (Wiz, Semgrep) and CVSS/EPSS familiarity
• Strong AWS cloud services background and understanding of SAST/DAST/SCA
• Hands-on use of AI/LLM tooling in security workflows
• Location: based in central or eastern timezones

Responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing strategy, operation, and continuous improvement of the vulnerability management program and related security programs
• Own and drive down MTTR across the backlog with tight SLAs
• Build and champion automation and tooling to scale detection and response across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems
• Set technical and architectural direction translating leadership priorities into execution plans
• Drive remediation by partnering with engineering teams and PM on reporting
• Mentor engineers on secure design and remediation practices
• Communicate risk and remediation tradeoffs to engineering leadership in actionable terms
• Participate in security incident investigations involving high-profile vulnerabilities
• Be on call to support critical vulnerability response
