Job summary

Morson Edge seeks an experienced Structural Engineer for a major heavy civil project in the UK, focusing on nuclear and defence infrastructure. The role involves delivering technical calculations, coordinating with BIM, and producing high-quality design documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil/Structural degree, Chartered status, 5–10+ years of relevant experience, and strong English communication skills, with the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer (MICE or MIStructE).
• 5–10+ years in structural/heavy civil design.
• Experience producing structural calculations.
• Strong RC design and detailing knowledge.
• Experience with BIM (Navisworks or Solibri).
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Able to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Produce and check structural calculations for heavy civil works.
• Coordinate with BIM team on drawings and models.
• Review reinforced concrete (RC) intent and detailing.
• Interrogate BIM models with Navisworks and Solibri.
• Prepare technical documentation including notes, specifications and reports.
• Deliver technical presentations for workshops and design reviews.
• Contribute to works information and design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure engineering outputs meet technical, quality and safety standards.
