Qualifikationen

• Proven experience in residential conveyancing and commercial property within a law firm or conveyancing practice, handling residential sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and leasehold matters; and in commercial acquisitions, disposals and lettings.
• Good understanding of HM Land Registry procedures, SDLT returns, leasehold documentation and post‑completion requirements.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases, sale and purchase documents, with ability to identify risks and advise accordingly.
• Knowledge of AML and client identification requirements; maintaining audit-ready case files and compliance documentation.
• Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Aufgaben

• Act for clients on end-to-end progression of both residential and commercial property transactions from instruction through exchange, completion and post-completion tasks.
• Prepare, review and execute documentation including engagement letters, contracts, transfers, leases, licences and SDLT returns.
• Carry out AML checks, maintain audit trails and ensure compliant file management.
• Carry out title reviews and respond to pre-contract enquiries; obtain and analyse searches and due diligence information.
• Liaise with clients, agents, surveyors, lenders and HM Land Registry; manage documentation and expectations.
• Draft, negotiate and review heads of terms, leases, surrenders and ancillary agreements; identify commercial and legal risks.
• Submit registrations to HM Land Registry and handle requisitions to achieve timely registrations.
• Respond to enquiries by telephone and email; escalate complex issues to senior fee earners.
• Provide supervision and training to junior team members and contribute to process improvements.
