Job summary

Canonical is recruiting a Senior Organisational Development Practitioner for remote, globally distributed teams. You will coach leaders to a standard of management excellence and diagnose organisational leadership to drive credible, field‑tested development.

In this senior role you’ll embed inside leader organisations, develop practitioners, and shape how coaching and organisational development is practiced across Canonical. Travel up to four times a year is expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on coaching and organisational‑development practice with real leaders and teams.
• Track record of measurably changing how leaders behave, with specific examples you can talk through.
• Credibility: able to walk into a room of directors and be taken seriously.
• Effectiveness operating inside someone else’s organisation without formal authority.
• Clear and honest philosophy of development: knows where coaching helps, and where it doesn’t.
• Exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Sincere personal motivation aligned with our mission.
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Responsibilities

• Coaching leaders to raise their game against a standard of management excellence.
• Land hard conversations by coaching leaders to make them happen.
• Turn 360 feedback into concrete, followed‑through commitments.
• Leave organisations visibly better led with a sharp diagnosis and a plan to own and drive.
• Contribute to defining and implementing new ways of working across our globally distributed company.
• Develop practitioners in the field to improve their craft under supervision.
• Set the bar for Canonical’s coaching and OD practices and prove methods in the field.
