Job summary

A Housing Association in Manchester is recruiting an Income Officer to manage rent accounts, reduce arrears and support tenants in sustaining their tenancies. The role is an interim contract with potential extension or conversion to permanent, working Monday to Friday with remote/home-based arrangements and one day per month in the office.

You will work closely with housing management and tenancy sustainment teams, using proactive communication and negotiation to protect revenue and help

• Experience in income management or rent arrears recovery.
• Experience with housing-related services.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage rent accounts and monitor arrears.
• Contact tenants to discuss balances and set repayment plans.
• Prevent and reduce rent arrears with proactive steps.
• Support tenants in financial difficulty and access support.
• Negotiate affordable repayment arrangements and monitor progress.
• Work with housing management and tenancy sustainment teams.
