Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Advisor- Regional Carbon Advisor for the East and West Midlands to support the Sustainability Strategy and meet carbon reduction targets across projects. You will quantify carbon, report across lifecycle stages, and drive regional carbon management improvements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable industry experience in a technical role on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience of bid, preconstruction or construction delivery phases with major civil engineering.
• Commitment to driving change and carbon management capability across the business.
• Good interpersonal skills for collaboration at all levels of the business.
• Strong verbal and written communication, plus analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Undertake carbon baselining, hotspot identification and reduction target setting on projects; ensure auditability for PAS 2080 compliance.
• Collate actual carbon data from in-flight projects with procurement, commercial, design, environmental, sustainability and project management teams.
• Provide carbon analysis from Candy or support others to provide preconstruction and delivery teams with hotspots and focus areas for reductions.
• Support development and continual improvement of the Carbon Management System processes.
• Develop and implement Carbon Management Plans in collaboration with project teams to drive reductions.
• Utilise Moata or similar for carbon reporting to clients.
