Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a Project Manager to join the Business Change team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in Wokingham with home working options. You will lead large-scale projects, ensuring milestones are met and benefits delivered, reporting into a multi‑million pound Housing Acquisition and Investment Programme.

The role requires Prince2 or equivalent, 2+ years PM experience, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years Project Management experience with evidence of successful delivery.
Trained in PRINCE2 and/or equivalent project management methodology.
Knowledge of local government and transformational government and efficiency agenda.
Relevant change management qualification or skills (Prosci or similar).
Experience using Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, MS Project, MS Visio, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Act as Project Manager for large-scale, priority projects to meet strategic priorities.
Build strong relationships quickly and identify dependencies.
Follow the Business Change Framework methodology and ways of working.
Administer and manage the project process and service project meetings.
Produce clear project plans and delivery timescales.
Identify outputs and milestones for decisions.
Report to governance forums and track actions.
Manage Risks and Issues and tracking of costs/benefits.
