Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a Project Manager to join the Business Change team on a full-time, fixed-term contract (12 months). You will lead large-scale priority projects, coordinate with senior stakeholders, and ensure delivery against plans, milestones and benefits tracking.

You will report to the £24 million housing acquisition and investment programme and contribute to governance, risk management and the management of MHCLG funding.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of project management delivery experience.
• PRINCE II training or equivalent project management method.
• Knowledge of local government and transformation/efficiency agendas.
• Change management qualification or equivalent experience (Prosci or similar).
• Experience using MS Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale, priority projects to meet strategic priorities.
• Build strong relationships quickly and identify dependencies.
• Follow the Business Change Framework methodology and ways of working.
• Administer and manage the project process and service project meetings.
• Produce clear project plans and delivery timescales.
• Identify key outputs and milestones for decision.
• Report to governance forums, track and monitor actions.
• Manage Risks and Issues and record and tracking of costs/benefits.
