Job summary

Speechify is a distributed team building the backend powering the world’s text-to-speech products. You will own critical APIs and services across payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics, collaborating with product, mobile, and web squads to keep latency and uptime high.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js in production systems.
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Ability to hand off work and improve team efficiency.
• Experience describing AI-assisted workflows and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and usage tracking.
• Improve and harden services to be faster, cheaper, and reliable.
• Ensure correctness with tests, logs, and monitoring before shipping changes.
• Automate repetitive tasks to free up time for bigger work.
• Document and turn one-off work into repeatable processes.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to align backend with product goals.
