Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer for the Platform in Oxford. You will own and evolve the backend APIs that power payments, subscriptions, auth, and usage tracking across web and mobile clients.

You’ll partner with product and frontend teams to keep pace with product roadmaps, improve system reliability, and drive automation. This role emphasizes scalable, high-availability services in a distributed setting.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node is required.
• Direct experience with GCP; working knowledge of AWS or Azure is preferred.
• A habit of handing off work and leaving reusable improvements behind.
• A daily working setup with AI agents and clear workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, and consumption tracking.
• Improve existing services to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Ensure correct changes with automated checks before shipping.
• Automate repetitive parts of the role to focus on higher-impact work.
• Create reusable solutions that the team can repeat.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web to keep backend ahead of product needs.
