Job summary

Swanton Care and Community is seeking a proactive PBS Practitioner to join our team across England and Scotland. The role focuses on delivering PBS and physical intervention training, developing plans, and supporting staff in caring for people with autism and learning disabilities.

The position requires travel and overnight stays, with a driver license and own vehicle preferred. You will lead on practice development, deliver NHS-aligned training, and promote proactive strategies to minimise

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 5 qualification in PBS or equivalent/above.
• Professional experience working with children and/or adults with Autism and learning disabilities; 1 year in PBS role or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of support needs of people with Autism, learning disabilities and mental health disorders; PBS, Active Support, Mental Capacity.
• Responsible for delivering face to face RRN accredited training programmes outlined by NAPPI UK to support maintaining our organisational training compliance.
• Equipping teams with the skills and knowledge to manage behavior safely, respectfully, and within legal and organisational guidelines.
• The trainer will promote the use of proactive strategies to minimise the use of restrictive practices and ensure the safety and well-being of staff and people we support.
• There will be an expected delivery of 3-4 days’ worth of training per week with a day to complete administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face to face RRN accredited training programmes as outlined by NAPPI UK to support training compliance.
• Equip teams with skills to manage behaviour safely, respectfully, and within guidelines.
• Promote proactive strategies to minimise restrictive practices and safeguard staff and those supported.
• Deliver 3–4 days of training weekly with time for administrative tasks.
