DAC Beachcroft LLP is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead the end-to-end payroll function for the CSG People Team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. The role focuses on accurate, timely payroll delivery, governance, and ongoing transformation through automation and system improvements.

You will work with People Systems, Finance and Technology teams to modernise payroll while supporting HMRC compliance, pensions and statutory obligations. Remote-friendly, with potential for flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Significant payroll leadership experience within a complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation including PAYE, pensions and HMRC compliance.
• Experience managing outsourced payroll providers and service delivery partners.
• Proven track record leading payroll transformation and process improvement projects.
• Payroll systems administration, enhancement and testing experience.
• Strong analytical, reporting and problem‑solving capability.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll process across the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, PAYE, HMRC and pensions.
• Manage relationships with payroll and pension providers and partners.
• Develop and maintain payroll controls, governance processes and procedures.
• Lead year-end activities, reconciliations and statutory submissions.
• Act as escalation point for complex payroll queries.
• Review and redesign payroll processes to improve efficiency and colleague experience.
• Identify opportunities for automation and standardisation.
• Lead payroll system upgrades, testing and change initiatives.
• Produce payroll reporting, metrics and insights for decision-making.
• Support strategic transformation projects and future growth initiatives.
