Job summary

Quantum Solutions is seeking an experienced Patent Attorney to own and manage our patent portfolio on a flexible, project-by-project basis. You will provide practical, commercially focused advice, draft and file applications, and coordinate with CEO and project leads while using AI-enabled tools to support the process.

The engagement is remote, approximately 20 hours per month, and offers the opportunity to influence strategy across advanced materials and imaging technologies in a lean,

Qualifications

• Qualified UK Patent Attorney or equivalent.
• Degree in a STEM discipline (materials science, chemistry, physics, semiconductor tech).
• Experience with AI-enabled patent research and drafting.
• Experience drafting and prosecuting patents in advanced materials or imaging tech.
• Strong understanding of patent office procedures and deadlines.
• Ability to communicate with scientists, executives and external counsel.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate ongoing and future patent applications with CEO and project leads.
• Maintain status with deadlines, milestones, costs and required actions.
• Draft patent applications, claims, and technical descriptions.
• Submit responses to examination reports and office actions.
• Identify patentable inventions with technical teams and translate concepts into disclosures.
• Use AI-enabled tools to support research, drafting, and workflow while maintaining confidentiality.
