Job summary

Quantum Solutions is seeking an experienced Patent Attorney to fully own and manage our patent portfolio on a flexible, project-by-project basis. You will draft, file and respond to patent applications, working closely with the CEO and project leads.

The role requires strong AI-enabled tooling skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into robust patent disclosures. This remote, project-based engagement averages about 20 hours per month and offers direct access to senior technical

Qualifications

• Qualified UK Patent Attorney or equivalent.
• Degree or strong technical background in STEM fields.
• Experience with generative AI in patent research, drafting and portfolio management.
• Experience drafting and prosecuting technically complex patent applications.
• Knowledge of patent office procedures, timelines and deadlines.
• Ability to communicate with scientists, engineers, executives and external counsel.
• Understanding of confidentiality, data security and AI-output limitations.
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a lean, fast-moving business.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate patent applications with CEO and project leads.
• Track application status, deadlines, milestones, costs and required actions.
• Evaluate patentability, claim scope, prosecution options and portfolio priorities.
• Draft applications, claims, descriptions and supporting materials.
• Submit responses to office actions and search reports.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify inventions and draft disclosures.
• Utilise AI tools to support research, drafting and workflow efficiency with professional judgement.
