Job summary

Wrexham AFC is seeking an experienced Scouting Operations Lead to oversee First Team and Emerging Talent scouting across Northern Europe. You will coordinate workflows, manage a small regional team, and ensure high-quality data, governance and timely communication for recruitment decisions.

• Strong understanding of data insights to support recruitment decisions and process development.

Responsibilities

• Chair the weekly Scouting Operations Meeting and track actions and decisions.
• Coordinate day-to-day workflow of a small regional scouting group.
• Serve as central contact for outgoing scouting requests from First Team Recruitment.
• Maintain and update the Scout Schedule Planner for domestic and international fixtures.
• Allocate live and video scouting assignments based on priorities and needs.
• Use market intelligence to identify targets aligned to club needs.
• Review scout reports and metrics, escalate issues to Head of Recruitment when needed.
• Ensure targets are assigned in systems and added to scouting shortlists.
• Collaborate with coordinators and Lead Video Analyst to align scheduling.
• Perform weekly gap analysis to identify missed coverage and follow up.
• Manage internal scouting database for data quality and efficiency.
• Communicate assignments with lead time for preparation and confirmation.
• Monitor scouting coverage for current targets and long-term prospects.
• Support design and improvement of scouting report templates.
• Review databases to ensure key targets are tracked and monitored.
• Provide admin support across fixtures, coverage, and attendance planning.
• Coordinate with external clubs for ticketing and match access when required.
• Maintain compliance with EFL and FA regulations related to scouting operations.
