Job summary

Spectrum IT presents a NOC Engineer role focused on large-scale cloud infrastructure and automation. You’ll monitor AWS production environments, own live incidents, and drive rapid restoration with scalable automation.

Ideal candidates will have Linux administration, AWS experience, and hands-on Terraform/Docker work, plus scripting in Python, Bash or Go and strong observability tooling knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux systems in production.
• Hands-on AWS infrastructure experience.
• Scripting in Python, Bash or Go.
• Strong debugging and incident management skills.

Responsibilities

• Keeping a close eye on business-critical AWS production environments and ensuring they stay up and performing well.
• Taking ownership of live incidents within a round-the-clock service and seeing them through to resolution.
• Digging into difficult technical problems and getting services back online with speed and precision.
• Writing automation that removes repetitive manual work and makes the platform more robust.
• Enhancing the monitoring, alerting and observability tooling used across our cloud estate.
• Partnering with software, platform, cloud and security teams to raise the bar on reliability and operational standards.
• Taking part in incident retrospectives and turning lessons learned into lasting improvements.
• Looking after containerised applications running on Terraform and Docker.
