Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Network Automation Engineer for a fully remote UK-wide role. You will design and implement scalable automation using Ansible, Nautobot, IP Fabric, and Python to streamline network operations across enterprise environments.

You’ll build source of truth workflows, craft templates with Jinja, and work with customers to operationalise automation while maintaining accurate inventory and state data. Strong production experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on network automation experience in production.
• Strong Ansible background with enterprise-scale automation.
• Nautobot experience for network source of truth, IPAM/DCIM workflows.
• IP Fabric experience for discovery, visibility and assurance.
• Python scripting to build automation tooling from scratch.
• Jinja templating for config generation.
• Solid network knowledge to understand what is being automated.
• Based anywhere in the UK, fully remote role.

Responsibilities

• Design and build network automation workflows using Ansible, Nautobot, and Jinja templating.
• Implement and maintain IP Fabric as a network source of truth and visibility platform.
• Develop Python scripts to automate network operations, configuration, and validation.
• Work with customers to operationalise network automation, moving from manual processes to scalable workflows.
• Maintain and evolve the source of truth, ensuring inventory and state data are accurate.
• Contribute to automation ops, monitoring, alerting, and continuous improvement.
