Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is recruiting a Network Automation Engineer to design, build and operate scalable automation workflows for enterprise networks, using IP Fabric, Ansible, Nautobot, Python and Jinja templating. You will implement IP Fabric as the source of truth, script automation tasks in Python, and work with customers to operationalise repeatable, scalable network automation across environments.

This remote UK-wide role offers a competitive salary (£60,000–£75,000) and the chance to shape

Qualifications

Hands-on network automation experience with production deployments.
Strong Ansible expertise with playbooks, roles and enterprise-scale automation.
Experience with Nautobot as network source of truth/IPAM/DCIM.

Responsibilities

Design and build network automation workflows using Ansible, Nautobot, and Jinja templating.
Implement and maintain IP Fabric as a network source of truth and visibility platform.
Develop Python scripts to automate network operations, configuration, and validation.
Work with customers to operationalise network automation—from manual to scalable workflows.
Maintain and evolve the source of truth, ensuring accurate network inventory and state data.
Contribute to automation ops—monitoring, alerting, and continuous improvement.
