Job summary

LA International is seeking an experienced Mainframe Storage Specialist to support a large programme with a key focus on migrating CA/Broadcom storage tooling to IBM. The role concentrates on z/OS Storage Management, including DASD, tape, SMS, HSM, replication, backup, recovery and capacity management.

You will also support migration and storage activities across the mainframe environment, providing L2/L3 support in a controlled CAB setting.

Qualifications

Strong hands-on z/OS Storage Management experience across DASD, SMS and HSM.
Experience with DFSMS, DFSMSdss, DFSMShsm/HSM and IDCAMS.
Experience with CA/Broadcom to IBM storage product migrations, ideally CA Allocate, CA-1 or CA Disk.
Knowledge of IBM equivalents including TAAM/DFSMS, DFSMSrmm and DFSMShsm.
Experience with storage replication, backup/recovery, DR and failover activities.
Experience with Dell EMC PowerMax, VTL, DLM and Data Domain (DD) would be highly desirable.
Strong understanding of storage allocation, dataset management, capacity and performance.
Experience providing L2/L3 support and working within controlled change/CAB environments.
Good understanding of z/OS, JCL and batch processing.

Responsibilities

Support migration of CA/Broadcom storage tooling to IBM during a large programme.
Focus on z/OS Storage Management including DASD, tape, SMS, HSM, replication, backup/recovery and capacity management.
Support critical migration and storage activities across the mainframe environment.
Provide L2/L3 support in a controlled change/CAB environment.
