Job summary

DXC Technology Inc. is seeking an IBM Mainframe Architect for the UK (Remote) to lead remediation initiatives and define robust end-to-end mainframe architectures.

You will drive modernization across legacy data movement and integration pipelines while ensuring high availability, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates bring extensive mainframe leadership experience, strong z/OS/CICS/DB2/RACF/JES3 expertise, and familiarity with modern data platforms and DevOps practices in

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as an IBM Mainframe Architect or Senior Mainframe Technical Lead.
• Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS, CICS, DB2, RACF, JES3 and Mainframe storage technologies.
• Understanding of COBOL and PL/1 application development within mainframe environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Legacy Remediation – identify risks, inefficiencies and modernization opportunities across mainframe systems.
• Define Architecture & Design – build robust solutions transitioning from legacy data movement tools to modern, secure, scalable alternatives.
• Modernise Data Integration – evaluate and replace Attunity-based pipelines with contemporary integration platforms.
• Optimise Performance & Reliability – ensure high availability and data integrity during and after remediation.
• Strengthen Security & Compliance – address vulnerabilities in outdated tools; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders – partner with infrastructure, application and data teams to align with business goals.
• Govern & Document – maintain detailed remediation plans, architectural decisions and migration paths for audit and governance.
