Job summary

Stonewater is seeking a Housing Officer to cover Worcester, Tenbury Wells, Pershore, Welland and Malvern. You will be a trusted local presence, managing tenancies and working with partners to keep homes safe and communities thriving.

You will own a defined patch, handle tenancy changes, lettings and voids, carry out inspections, and respond to vulnerabilities and safeguarding concerns. The role emphasizes customer care and trauma-informed practice.

Qualifications

• Experience of housing management or similar customer-facing role.
• Knowledge of housing legislation including safeguarding, ASB and welfare reform.
• Strong communication and influencing skills under pressure.
• Customer-focused mindset with equality and trauma-informed practice.
• Confidence using digital systems to manage cases.
• Ability to work independently with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Managing the full tenancy lifecycle, from sign-up through end of tenancy.
• Handling tenancy changes, mutual exchanges and investigations into breaches or fraud.
• Supporting lettings and voids activity to minimise rent loss and turnaround times.
• Carrying out estate inspections and addressing neighbourhood and environmental issues.
• Managing low-level anti-social behaviour and neighbour disputes.
• Identifying and responding to vulnerability, safeguarding and non-access cases.
• Completing fire risk assessments and monitoring health and safety issues.
• Investigating complaints and learning from outcomes to improve services.
• Working with local authorities and external agencies to support customers.
