Job summary

Client Server Limited is seeking a Linux Systems and Data Centre Engineer to oversee production Linux environments in a hybrid role with a focus on Slough data centre operations. You will manage Ubuntu fleets, LXD/LXC, and L3 incident responses while coordinating with datacentre partners and vendors.

The role covers server installation, cabling, power planning, inventory and OOB management, with day-to-day network operations and automation using Chef and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) in production environments.
• Good knowledge of networking fundamentals for day-to-day ops.
• Clear runbook style writing and disciplined change control.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve production Linux environments and data centre operations in Slough.
• Coordinate with vendors, carriers and datacentre partners; manage rack/stack, cabling and inventory.
• Automate infrastructure and processes using Chef, Terraform or similar tools; maintain runbooks and change procedures.
