Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Solar PV Systems Designer for a fully remote role. You will conceptualize, design, and engineer high-performance PV systems for projects across Africa and beyond, collaborating with a global team.

The role requires 10+ years in solar design, leadership of design teams, and strong knowledge of PV software and HV interconnection. A PE or equivalent is highly desirable, with a strong remote-work capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years in solar PV design and engineering.
• Experience with PV design software PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp.
• Knowledge of HV interconnection, software simulations, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of utility-scale and commercial solar PV systems.
• Develop system layouts, single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, BOMs.
• Perform energy yield assessments and performance simulations.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure project execution excellence.
• Prepare technical documentation and construction drawings.
