Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is seeking an experienced Technical Design Manager (Solar PV) to lead the technical development of commercial/industrial Solar PV projects. You will oversee design from enquiry to handover, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements, while guiding the engineering function.

Based in the UK with remote working and site visits, you will work closely with Commercial, Project Services and Delivery teams to deliver technically robust, commercially viable

Qualifications

• Experience in Solar PV design/engineering management.
• Understanding EPC contracts and client requirements.
• Knowledge of BS 7671 and G99.
• Experience with site visits and project handover.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and PV design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical reviews of enquiries, EPC contracts, Employer's Requirements, Invitations to Tender (ITT) and client specifications.
• Develop compliant, efficient and commercially viable Solar PV system designs for commercial and industrial projects.
• Prepare technical tender submissions, cost proposals, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), rate cards, engineering specifications and supporting documentation.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, energy generation modelling and performance analysis.
• Produce and review system layouts, string designs, SLDs, cable sizing calculations and equipment schedules.
• Identify technical risks, design constraints and value engineering opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership and support to Project Managers and teams.
• Act as the primary technical authority for Solar PV across the UK business.
• Develop and implement engineering standards and governance processes.
