Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation is seeking a Lead Human Factors Design Engineer for a six-month contract. Primarily home-based with occasional travel to Havant and customer sites in Cornwall and Yeovil.

You will join a small HF team on Merlin Helicopter, Airborne, Maritime, Land and R&D programmes, shaping future capabilities and bids while applying HF standards in design. Role requires a strong HF background with experience in methodologies and human-machine interfaces, and an ability to lead HF

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; typically 5–7 years of professional experience.
• Experience with UI design, information architecture, usability testing and ergonomics assessments in a defence/engineering context.
• Familiar with DEF-STAN 00-251, ISO 9241 and related design standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply human performance principles to the design of human-machine systems and workstations.
• Propose, evaluate and refine HMI designs.
• Develop research methodologies and analysis plans to design prototypes.
