Job summary

G2 Recruitment Group Limited is supporting a Welsh local authority client seeking an Interim Group Accountant (Capital/Closedown). The role is 6 months with potential extension, and offers hybrid working with two office days weekly; fully remote may be possible for suitable candidates.

You will manage a small corporate finance team, handle capital accounting duties, including fixed asset register, and assist in producing the year-end accounts.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with capital accounting experience.
• Experience in local authority financial processes and closedown.
• Ability to lead a small team and partner with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee capital accounting including fixed asset register and capital closedown.
• Budget setting and monitoring for capital projects.
• Support production of the statement of accounts with the team.
