Job summary

Deploy Recruitment Group is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer experienced in high voltage (HV) connections design for 33kV–132kV projects under a major DNO framework. The role involves designing, costing, and delivering HV network schemes, with site visits and stakeholder engagement as part of the project lifecycle.

The candidate will assess load/generation connections, prepare business cases, and ensure compliance with ENA standards, Grid Code, and CDM regulations.

Qualifications

  • HV connections and network design for 33kV–132kV.
  • Familiar with Electricity Network Regulations and NERS.
  • Understanding of DNO/IDNO design standards and approval processes.
  • Knowledge of ENA engineering recommendations and industry standards.
  • Grid Code requirements relating to protection settings.
  • Awareness of HSE and CDM regulations in electrical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design and cost 33kV–132kV network projects (new connections, asset replacement, diversions).
  • Analyse network issues and develop robust, cost-effective solutions.
  • Assess generation connections and raise tests per requirements.
  • Prepare concise business cases for Production Plan authorisation.
  • Determine the Point of Connection for new load/generation on HV networks up to 132kV.
  • Undertake site visits and stakeholder meetings to support project delivery.
