Job summary

Sustainable Talent is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support a major Bristol City Council framework and regional renewable energy projects. The role combines remote working with site visits and office attendance as required, offering exposure to public-sector infrastructure and grid-scale solar initiatives.

You will provide day-to-day HSE guidance across construction, operations and maintenance, review risk assessments and SWaTs, and assist investigations to drive continuous safety

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate is required.
• Five years' experience in health and safety within construction, infra, renewables or similar site environments.
• Solid knowledge of CDM regulations and construction health and safety requirements.
• Experience conducting site inspections, risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with site teams, contractors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day health and safety advice across construction, operational and maintenance activities.
• Support delivery of the Bristol City Council framework and other renewables/infrastructure projects in the Southwest.
• Carry out site inspections, safety audits and compliance reviews, identifying risks and driving corrective actions.
• Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work to ensure appropriate controls.
• Advise project managers and site teams on health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Support CDM compliance and statutory requirements.
• Assist with incident investigations, near-miss reporting and root cause analysis.
• Monitor HSE performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute to the Integrated Management System development (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
• Build relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.
