Job summary
Hitachi Energy UK Limited is seeking a Commissioning Engineer for Gas Insulated Switchgear to strengthen the UK’s energy network. You will lead on-site testing and commissioning across the UK, ensuring safety and adherence to specifications after a comprehensive training program.
Remote-friendly setup with occasional site travel and emphasis on reliable energy solutions. Ideal candidates have a BSc/BEng in electrical engineering or equivalent, MV/HV GIS experience, and a UK driving license.
Qualifications
- BSc/BEng in electrical engineering or HNC equivalent.
- Experience testing and commissioning MV/HV GIS.
- GIS commissioning certification is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Good communication and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute on-site testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting per specs.
- Use GIS knowledge to inform technical decisions and ensure safety.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver projects safely and effectively.
- Prepare field reports and updates on site progress.
- Maintain compliance with safety regs and quality assurance.
