Job summary

Sunderland Culture is seeking a Freelance Cultural Education Resource Developer to create curriculum-linked resources for schools, supporting the Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens Redevelopment Project.

The freelancer will develop accessible, engaging resources inspired by Sunderland’s local history, and designed for diverse learners. Candidates should have experience in cultural education and strong curriculum knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience in museum, heritage, arts, cultural or creative education.
• Experience developing school resources, education packs or learning sessions.
• Strong curriculum knowledge, particularly around primary/local history.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging and accessible resources for schools.
• Create four completed learning resources/session plans.
• Work with Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens and Sunderland Culture’s team.

Skills

Experience in museum, heritage, arts, cultural or creative education

Experience developing school resources

Strong curriculum knowledge

Ability to write clearly

Experience creating inclusive learning activities

Understanding of enquiry-led learning

Knowledge of Sunderland’s heritage
