Job summary

Local Authority is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner for an interim role, remote with occasional onsite attendance in Suffolk. You will support multiple service areas with budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial advice to senior stakeholders.

The contract is 3-6 months, starts ASAP, and offers an opportunity to influence MTFS and year-end reporting within a complex public sector organisation.

Qualifications

• Qualified or proven senior experience in financial management and reporting.
• Experience providing business partnering and strategic financial advice.
• Familiarity with MTFS and local authority budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

• Support MTFS delivery, annual budget setting and year-end outturns.
• Provide financial advice and challenge to Service Managers and Senior Officers.
• Produce budget monitoring reports, forecasts and financial commentary for leadership.
• Lead year-end accounting processes and statutory reporting requirements.
• Review budget pressures, savings opportunities and financial risks.
• Contribute to business cases, projects and committee reports.
