Job summary

East Suffolk Council is looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join its finance team on an initial six-month contract with remote working. You will work closely with senior officers and Members to provide strategic financial management, guidance and challenge.

The role involves managing the financial performance of allocated services, supporting the Medium-Term Financial Strategy, budget setting, in-year monitoring, year-end outturn and statutory reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in local authority or public sector environment is highly advantageous.
• Ability to provide constructive challenge and identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Finance Officer in delivering the Medium Term Financial Strategy and budget-setting processes.
• Provide proactive financial management, advice and challenge to service managers and senior officers.
• Produce accurate financial information, commentary and forecasts, including quarterly budget monitoring for management and Members.
