Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support Ovation control systems across the UK and Ireland. The role is home-based with travel to customer sites, combining hands-on maintenance, commissioning, and upgrades with on-site training and issue resolution.

You will work independently and with regional teams to deliver reliable, safe, and innovative control solutions, fostering strong customer relationships and continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience servicing, commissioning, or supporting distributed control systems (DCS) within industrial environments.
• Clear, confident communication with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to work autonomously while staying connected to a service team.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to UK & Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional after-sales service and support for Emerson Ovation control systems, focusing on Ovation solutions.
• Perform maintenance, site installation, commissioning, upgrades, start-up and repair services at customer locations.
• Modify hardware and software programmes to meet customer requirements.
• Analyse performance from field devices and system data to provide actionable recommendations.
• Deliver on-site training on system operation and service best practices.
• Support customers in resolving technical and application issues, including complex problems.
• Participate in on-call support rota to ensure continuity of service.
• Collaborate with sales and service teams on demonstrations, proposals and engagements.
• Identify service and product opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Travel across the UK and Ireland to customer sites, with planned travel and occasional extended assignments.
