Job summary

Hft is seeking an experienced People Advisor to join its People Operations team in the East of England region. The role focuses on independent handling of a high-volume employee relations caseload, offering legally sound advice on disciplinary, grievance, capability and sickness absence matters.

You will support managers through investigations, formal meetings and outcomes, while ensuring compliance and strong record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in an employee relations advisory role, independently managing a high-volume caseload of live cases.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and applying legislation to real-life situations.
• Experience advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, capability and sickness absence matters.
• Experience supporting workplace investigations and advising on next steps and outcomes.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload of live employee relations cases, prioritising and progressing to conclusion.
• Provide clear, practical, legally sound advice on disciplinary, grievance, capability and sickness absence matters.
• Guide managers through investigations, formal meetings, decision-making and outcome documentation.
• Balance competing priorities, track deadlines and ensure high-risk matters receive attention.
• Maintain accurate records in case management systems and ensure data protection compliance.
• Coach managers to improve confidence and competence in handling ER matters.
• Identify trends across caseload and share insights to improve management practice.
