Job summary

Baltimore Consulting is seeking an Interim EHC Officer for New Assessments in the United Kingdom. This 3-month assignment offers £300 per day inside IR35 and can be conducted remotely.

The role focuses on taking ownership of EHC Needs Assessments, coordinating advice across education, health and social care, and drafting detailed EHCPs with clear provision planning. You will act as the primary contact for families, guiding them through statutory processes and legal rights while ensuring

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice and EHCP statutory requirements
• Experience managing complex casework within a SEND, education or local authority environment
• Proven ability to work effectively across multi-agency partnerships and engage confidently with families and professionals
• Experience drafting reports, plans or statutory documents with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to interpret professional advice, analyse evidence and make well-informed recommendations

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of EHC Needs Assessments from request through to final decision, ensuring statutory compliance throughout the process
• Coordinate and analyse professional advice from Educational Psychology, Health, Social Care, educational settings, parents and young people
• Draft high-quality, outcome-focused EHCPs, ensuring Sections A-K are accurate and provision is clearly specified and quantified
• Act as the key point of contact for families, providing guidance on statutory processes, legal rights and person-centred approaches
• Prepare and present cases for decision‑making panels while supporting placement planning and maintaining exceptional record keeping
