Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualification or experience in disability support or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Understanding of independent living and person-centered support.
• Strong remote communication and listening skills.
• Proficiency with virtual tools (Zoom/Teams) and electronic records.
• Ability to autonomously manage a remote caseload.
• Empathy and commitment to inclusion and dignity.
• Knowledge of disability services in Eastern Cape preferred.
• Reliable internet and home office setup.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote emotional support and encouragement to clients with disabilities.
• Assist clients in navigating and accessing community services and resources.
• Advocate for clients' needs and rights within various systems.
• Help clients develop and achieve personal goals related to independence and quality of life.
• Maintain regular contact with clients via phone, video calls, and messaging platforms.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other support network members.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
• Stay informed about available disability support services and policies.
• Identify potential risks and report concerns according to organizational procedures.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and professional development sessions.
