Job summary

Datadog is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to lead technical storytelling and mentorship, anchoring our data observability efforts. You will own projects end-to-end, enabling Datadog's engineering community to build better software while shaping the broader technology landscape.

You’ll create demos, blogs, documentation, and talks; collaborate with product teams, and feed back from practitioners to influence product direction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a software developer, data engineer, SRE, or equivalent
• 3+ years of advocacy, developer relations, or equivalent experience
• Publicly available writing samples, demos, repositories, or recordings of technical presentations
• Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure and container-based systems
• Strong interest in self-directed learning and exploring new technologies

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert for data observability on behalf of Datadog's advocacy and engineering teams
• Create content in multiple mediums to build Datadog's reputation in data engineering and observability
• Coach internal product and customer engineering teams on effective public communication and presentations
• Contribute to the product through feedback on bugs or enhancements
• Identify and pursue opportunities for events and community-focused work to build trust with practitioners
