Job summary

Harnham is seeking a Data Analyst for a remote role with one day a month in the Leeds office. You will shape evidence-based decisions across workforce strategy, analytics, and policy, delivering complex analyses and forecasting to support planning and pay frameworks.

The role requires advanced Excel, Pivot Tables, VBA, and the ability to communicate technical insights to senior stakeholders, with a track record in modelling scenarios and working independently on multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel skills including building complex models from scratch.
• Experience using formulas, Pivot Tables, charts, VBA, and macros.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving capability.
• Experience modelling complex business, workforce, or financial scenarios.
• The ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• A STEM degree, ideally within mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related discipline.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver workforce, pay, and reward analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Build and maintain complex Excel-based models to forecast workforce and financial outcomes.
• Develop cost modelling for pay proposals, policy changes, and workforce initiatives.
• Create scenario analysis and long-term forecasts incorporating variables such as workforce growth, attrition, and inflation.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Translate business and policy questions into analytical specifications and modelling frameworks.
• Produce clear reports and recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Present findings and analytical insights to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with policy teams and external stakeholders to support evidence-based decisions.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of analytical methodologies and best practices.
