Job summary

Jobgether SRL in the United Kingdom is seeking a Backend Engineer to own API integrations, connectors, worker/jobs, and a mailer service. You’ll build robust, production-ready backend systems and deliver reliable interfaces between critical platforms while emphasizing resilience over happy-path behavior.

Responsibilities include designing/maintaining API connections (OAuth, webhooks, pagination), building queue-driven workers, ensuring observability, and robust migrations with PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• Proven backend engineering track record with Python/Node.js/Go.
• Experience building production API integrations (OAuth, webhooks, pagination, error handling).
• Strong relational database design, migrations and data persistence.
• Testing mindset: contract, integration, unit, or e2e tests.
• Experience with asynchronous/queue-based systems and background workers.
• Safety, reliability, retries, idempotency, and observability fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Docker and modern CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and monitoring/observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production-ready API integrations and connectors.
• Implement authentication and integration patterns with OAuth, webhooks, retries, and error handling.
• Design and develop queue-driven, stateful workers and background jobs.
• Build a mailer service with PDF attachments, logging, and deduplication.
• Design database schemas and perform migrations using PostgreSQL.
• Implement audit events and observability across distributed processes.
• Develop QA coverage including contract/integration tests and end-to-end tests.
