Job summary

Randstad Digital in Manchester is urgently seeking experienced Backend Engineers to lay the technical groundwork for scaling global partner connectivity within our travel ecosystem. You will build cloud-native microservices, handle real-time messaging, and ensure robust integrations with external platforms using Java and Spring Boot.

You will own end-to-end delivery, design resilient systems, and contribute to production monitoring with OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend systems in microservice architectures.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems principles (fault tolerance, retries, idempotency).
• Proficiency with cloud-native services (AWS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Hands-on experience with event-driven data flows and real-time messaging.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage distributed backend microservices powering third‑party integrations.
• Create reliable event-driven data flows for product updates and notifications.
• Apply distributed systems practices and monitor health with metrics and tracing.
• Own end‑to‑end technical ownership from specs to live production monitoring.
• Work with Java/Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and AWS in a high-scale environment.
