Job summary

Version 1 is seeking a hands-on Security Engineer to embed within a large-scale AWS migration programme. You will design, automating and enforcing security controls throughout the migration lifecycle — ensuring every workload lands in AWS with a secure, compliant, and auditable posture.

This role blends cloud security architecture, infrastructure-as-code, and Python automation, collaborating with migration teams to unblock issues and sustain delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands-on security engineering for cloud and migration projects.
• Experience securing production AWS environments and migrations.
• Strong scripting and automation in Python.
• Familiarity with IaC in production settings.

Responsibilities

• Define security controls, guardrails, and landing zone baselines for AWS migrations.
• Design and operate AWS-native security tooling across accounts and Organisations.
• Build security automation in Python and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain IaC for security services, IAM, networking, and encryption.
• Embed security into GitLab CI/CD pipelines with policy-as-code gates.
• Assess posture before, during, and after migration and remediate issues.
