Job summary

Target Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Cloud Engineer to design, build, secure and optimise AWS-based platforms, balancing automation with reliability and scale across critical services.

You’ll lead by example, mentoring engineers, setting engineering standards and providing technical direction across DevOps, cloud engineering and security teams to drive secure-by-design architectures and resilient, cost-efficient deployments.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on AWS experience across compute, networking, storage and security.
• Deep expertise in AWS networking, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, Route 53, ALB/NLB and PrivateLink.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Terragrunt and/or CloudFormation.
• Proven experience with CI/CD, GitOps, containerisation and Kubernetes/EKS, plus scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a senior technical authority for DevOps, cloud engineering and AWS platform design.
• Leading the design, deployment and optimisation of secure, scalable and highly available AWS architectures.
• Defining engineering standards, patterns and best practices for infrastructure, networking, security and automation.
• Providing technical leadership for AWS networking, including VPC design, Transit Gateway, Route 53, load balancing and hybrid connectivity.
• Championing Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and GitOps using Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Embedding security, observability, compliance and reliability into cloud-native and hybrid platforms.
• Mentoring engineers, guiding architectural decisions and helping raise capability across the wider engineering community.
