Armstrong Watson is recruiting an Audit & Assurance Director / Partner to lead a diverse portfolio of audits across the North of England and Scotland. The role offers strategic leadership within a growing practice and aims to elevate the firm’s audit offerings through client relationships and a strong leadership presence.

You will work with the partner group to drive growth, mentor teams, and ensure high-quality delivery while upholding the firm’s values of integrity and excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading complex audit engagements.
• Strong UK & Ireland ISAs knowledge and application.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset and strong leadership.
• Commercial awareness and ability to grow the audit service line.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of audit engagements across sectors.
• Advise business owners with commercially focused guidance.
• Develop and mentor the audit team and future leaders.
• Oversee planning, prioritisation and client communications across the department.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape strategic direction.
• Build and maintain a network of partners to raise Armstrong Watson's profile.
