Armstrong Watson is seeking an experienced Audit & Assurance Director/Partner to join our Newcastle office. You will lead high‑level client engagements, set strategy for the Audit department and mentor senior staff to ensure outstanding service and robust financial reporting.

The role requires ACA/ACCA, strong ISA knowledge, and the ability to build long‑term client relationships while driving growth and fee recovery in a collaborative, values‑driven firm.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified.
• In-depth knowledge of UK taxes (Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE).
• Excellent knowledge of ISAs (UK & Ireland).
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work under deadlines.
• Able to use own initiative and be well organized.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring planning, prioritising and allocation of all relevant client work with effective team workflow.
• Ensuring agreement of client work to be undertaken and communicating likely fees prior to commencement to maximise fee recovery.
• Ensuring adequate contact availability for clients, Armstrong Watson personnel and external organisations with self and team members as appropriate.
• Building, developing a network of business partners / intermediates to ensure the profile of Armstrong Watson is positive and to generate referral opportunities.
