Armstrong Watson LLP in Carlisle invites an experienced Business Services Director/Partner to lead client relationships and drive growth within our established practice.

You will oversee portfolio profitability, ensure high quality accounting and advisory services, mentor teams, and shape the firm’s strategic direction as we expand across the UK.

Role requires senior leadership, collaboration with partners, and a commitment to exceptional client service and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Qualified Accountant under ICAS, ICAEW or ACCA.
• Strong knowledge of preparing non-statutory, sole trader and partnership accounts and statutory financial statements (UK GAAP).
• Solid understanding of UK taxes (Personal, Corporation, VAT, Capital Taxes).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to adapt to audience.
• Ability to develop and support colleagues and manage performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client meetings and act as Relationship Manager for designated portfolio.
• Raise and approve fees for own portfolio and set objectives for direct reports.
• Monitor performance against objectives and KPIs; provide feedback to Business Services Partner.
• Sign off documents/accounts/returns where legally acceptable.
• Build own network to generate new business and assist with recruitment.
