Job summary

Montu UK is seeking an Accuracy Checking Dispenser (ACD) to join our Winnersh site. You will perform the critical final accuracy check on every dispensed prescription, ensuring the right patient, medicine, strength, and directions, and uphold legal and SOP standards.

You will work with the pharmacy team to identify errors, maintain detailed records, and support quality improvements while handling controlled drugs and high-risk medicines with utmost care.

Qualifications

• Accredited Accuracy Checking Dispenser (ACD) qualification recognised for dispensing practice.
• Significant experience in a pharmacy environment with final accuracy checks.
• Detailed understanding of the dispensing process and critical control points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the final accuracy check on dispensed medicines against prescription and docs.
• Verify patient, medicine, strength, formulation, quantity, and directions for accuracy.
• Ensure medicines comply with legal requirements, SOPs and processes.
• Identify and escalate discrepancies and near misses to promote safety.
• Maintain auditable records of all checks.
• Exercise professional judgement and escalate concerns beyond your scope.
• Support safe handling of controlled drugs and high-risk medicines.
• Check expiry dates, batch numbers, and packaging integrity before supply.
• Collaborate with dispensers and pharmacists to resolve queries.
• Support quality assurance initiatives and process improvements.
