Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is recruiting a Relief Assistant Practitioner for Clayfields House in Stapleford. You will care for vulnerable young people aged 10-18, addressing their physical, emotional and mental health needs in a safe, supportive environment, and you will work across shifts on site.

This role offers flexible relief patterns, working mornings, evenings and weekends as required, with full training and supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience of working with children and young people.
• Understanding of the physical, emotional, and mental health needs of vulnerable young people.
• Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a challenging environment.
• Ability to set and maintain appropriate boundaries while providing support.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive atmosphere.
• Creativity to engage young people in meaningful activities.

Responsibilities

• Engaging with young people to encourage their personal development and well-being.
• Planning and delivering enriching activities and supporting daily life skills for young people in our care.
• Collaborating with a team to create a safe and nurturing environment.
• Acting as a positive role model to our young people.
• Covering shifts due to Annual Leave and other absences.
