Job summary

Join Nottinghamshire County Council at Clayfields House Secure Unit in Stapleford as a Relief Night Care Assistant, supporting young people aged 10–18 overnight. This role offers enhanced pay for unsociable hours and requires covering annual leave and sickness.

You will help with bedtime routines, monitor welfare, operate security systems, and perform light domestic tasks in a calm, secure environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Basic understanding of child development and care needs.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including nights, weekends and bank holidays
• Experience in a care or support role (not essential but beneficial)

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, supportive and positive care to all resident children and young people.
• Participate in the bedtime routines of young people.
• Monitor the welfare and safety of young people overnight.
• Operate security systems to ensure a safe environment.
• Perform domestic tasks as needed to maintain the unit.
