Job summary

Mencap is seeking Relief Support Workers to join our team in East Sussex, covering three services in Uckfield, Seaford and Newhaven. You will support individuals with learning disabilities with daily activities, companionship, and emotional support to help them live as independently as possible.

Flexibility is essential to cover shifts from 0900 to 2200, with possible sleep-in duties at a premium rate. An enhanced DBS check and references are required, and we promote an inclusive workplace

Mencap are seeking Relief Support Workers to join our incredible team in East Sussex working across 3 services in Uckfield, Seaford, and Newhaven. As a Relief Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you'll play a vital role in their life. What we're looking for: A genuine passion for supporting others. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities. Shift times: All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life! Hours vary and can be between 0900 and 2200, Possible sleep-in shifts available from 2200-0700. There is also a non-contractual sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £64.20.
